MCF's renewable scholarships provide multi-year funding so you can focus on your studies — not just your first year, but every year you continue to succeed.
More Than a One-Time Award
Unlike one-time scholarships, MCF's renewable awards are designed to provide sustained support throughout your college career. Recipients who maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet renewal requirements can receive funding year after year.
Renewable scholarships are made possible by donors who believe that a single year of support isn't enough — that students deserve a partner in their education from start to finish. We are proud to offer this level of commitment to our future leaders.
How Renewal Works
Renewable scholarships are not automatic — recipients must meet renewal criteria each year to continue receiving funding.
Initial Award
Students apply through the SLM Scholarship Portal during the regular scholarship cycle. Renewable scholarships are identified in the portal listing.
Complete Your First Year
Attend your chosen college or university full-time and maintain the minimum GPA required by your specific scholarship (typically 2.5 or higher).
Submit Renewal Documentation
Each spring, submit your official transcript and a brief renewal statement through the portal confirming continued enrollment and academic standing.
Receive Continued Funding
Upon approval, your award is renewed for the next academic year. Funding is disbursed directly to your institution at the start of each term.
Renewal Requirements
To remain eligible for a renewable scholarship, recipients must meet the following criteria each year:
- Maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester)
- Achieve and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA specified in your award letter
- Submit annual follow up report via the Scholarship Portal between April 15 and June 1
- Remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited institution
- Notify MCF of any changes to enrollment status, institution, or major
Apply for a Renewable Scholarship
Renewable scholarships are awarded through the same application process as all MCF scholarships. Log in to the SLM Portal to find renewable awards and submit your application before the deadline.
