Administration of the program
is provided free of charge to the more than 1,100 affiliates in the U.S., Canada, and U.K. by Dolly Parton's Dollywood Foundation. This includes convening the annual panel that selects which books to include in the program, negotiating the discounted purchasing price with the publisher, coordinating book orders, and coordinating the mailing of each monthly book to more than 500,000 children.
However, her Foundation does not pay for the actual book purchase or postage for your child's book each month. That cost is paid each month by several generous local sponsors. Our lead local sponsor is the Middletown Community Foundation, along with its Women Enriching Lives women’s leadership program, which hosts an annual fundraising luncheon for the program.
Our other partners providing direct financial assistance in purchasing books for Middletown children are:
Miriam G. Knoll Charitable Foundation
Middletown Rotary Foundation
United Way of Greater Cincinnati - Middletown Area
Kiwanis Club of Middletown
The Arthur Harvey Foundation
The Barnitz Fund of JPMorgan Chase
The Morgan Family Foundation Fund
Atrium Medical Center Foundation
Our partners providing in-kind and program support are:
Middletown Public Library
Edgewood, Franklin, Madison, Monroe, Trenton, and Middletown, School Districts.
It costs us roughly $24 per child annually to send these books, and you may also help by making a tax-deductible contribution via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) CLICK HERE. Contributions by check may be mailed to Imagination Library, Middletown Community Foundation, 300 North Main Street, Suite 300, Middletown, OH 45042.
Special thanks to individual donors who have made contributions to support book purchases for local children!
