AAUW SCHOLARSHIPS
Established by the American Association of University Women.  Available to a High School Senior who is the first in their immediate family to attend college, who wants to advance their education at an accredited college or university, and who resides in the greater Middletown area. 

AK STEEL SONS & DAUGHTERS SCHOLARSHIP
Available for the sons and daughters of AK Steel Corporation employees.  A renewable scholarship to attend college for four years.  Applications are available in human resource offices at all AK Steel facilities or may be downloaded from www.aksteel.com.

DOROTHY M. BRAYTON SCHOLARSHIP
Seniors graduating from Middletown High School and Bishop Fenwick with a 2.0 GPA and have shown good character and good citizenship as well as having a financial need. Renewable for four years based on need.

CARPENTER SCHOLARSHIP
Available for all students who will be attending Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.  Renewable for four years based on need. 

GARDNER SCHOLARSHIPS
Available for most students, based on need, renewable for four years. 

HARVEY SCHOLARSHIP
Available for all students, based on need, renewable for four years.  The scholarship is only for students attending colleges and universities supported by the State of Ohio Board of Regents.

Norman and Pat Hayes Scholarship
The student  must be the first in his/her immediate family to attend college Students with a 2.5 GPA from grades 9 – 12 and will be attending a four year accredited college or university.  The Board of Trustees of the Middletown Community Foundation established this scholarship fund in honor of Norman Hayes upon his retirement in 2000.  Hayes was the Executive Director of the Foundation from 1989 to 2000.  The scholarship is renewable for four years.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Available for students who have participated in the high school level JA Economics program at Franklin, Lebanon, Middletown, Madison, Springboro and Waynesville High Schools. Students should contact their guidance officers for information on applying.

THE LOUIS B. McCALLAY SCHOLARSHIP
Available for all students, based on academic performance, citizenship and financial need.  The scholarship may be renewable for four years.

MIDDLETOWN FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Available to graduating high school students from any high school within City of
Middletown or if the student’s parent is an employee of the City of Middletown . Student must have participated in community service. The scholarship is for any field of study. Academic achievement, extracurricular activities and need may be considered in selecting the most appropriate recipient.
 

POLICE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for the sons and daughters of all employees of the Middletown Division of Police.  Applications may be obtained at the Middletown Division of Police.

THE JANICE E. SCHULZ & JEROME C. SCHULZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Available to all seniors at Middletown High School planning to attend an accredited college.

THE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
To provide academic assistance to those who have served in all branches of the United States Military, Military Reserve, Merchant Marine during World War II or National Guard, or for any of their family members. 1.
 Military service is defined as honorable service , past or present,  2. Family member is defined as any child, grandchild, spouse, widow, or dependent.

Audubon Society Scholarship
Area seniors who are interested in the natural sciences (biology, botany, ecology, geology and zoology) and are planning on pursuing a college major related to the natural sciences.

The Ebie and Johnsie Banks Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of elementary education

The Allen Beach Memorial Award
This honorary award is available for all students based on academic performance and participation in extra curricular endeavors.        

The Mary Ann Brehany Scholarship
This honorary scholarship provides funds to enrich and extend educational knowledge and experience to students desiring to become speech and hearing therapists.

Beulah Brown RN Nursing Scholarship
A four year renewable scholarship for Middletown High School seniors and graduates studying to become a registered nurse.

Burton Scholarship for organ studies
Students age 15 to 25 who wish to study organ to become church musicians.  Contact the Middletown Community Foundation for information.

Lorene J. Chenault Scholarship
This award is for any student attending Miami University -Middletown pursuing study in the area of art.  Applications are to be made directly with the Miami University Office of Financial Aid.

The Class of 1964 Scholarship APPLICATIONS FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR ONLY.
This scholarship is for all students based on academic performance and financial need.

The Marjorie Colyer Scholarship
This scholarship in memory of Marjorie Colyer is available to students from Edgewood, Madison, Middletown and  Monroe High Schools who are intending to major in elementary education.

The Monna H. Conn Scholarship for Music
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of music who have a high level of proficiency on the piano.

Christy Minnix Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be Middletown High School seniors in good academic standing with an accumulative grade point average for grades 9-12 of 3.0 or higher.  The recipient will be a student who personifies the positive attitude that Christy had, including her love of mathematics, science and teaching. Preference will be given to students who attended Rosedale Elementary School.  Applicants do not need to demonstrate financial need to qualify for the Christy Minnix Memorial Scholarship. 

Louis John Johnen Scholarship Fund  
This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a high school senior who is graduating from any Middletown Area school.  This applicant must be attending or planning to attend an accredited college with plans to pursue a career in vocal music (performance major or education major).  A CD or video recording demonstrating vocal talent must accompany the application.

Louie F. Cox Memorial AK Steel African-American Scholarship
Available for Butler and Warren County High School Seniors that will be majoring in business, engineering, or computer science at an accredited U.S. college or university.  Applicants need not be related to an AK Steel employee. Applications may be downloaded from www.mcfoundation.org.

Marilyn E. Day Memorial Scholarship
Middletown High School seniors who are planning to major in physical education or a health related field such as physical therapy or sports medicine. Preferences to be given to physical education majors. Student must have a 3.0 GPA in high school and maintain that average throughout college to qualify for annual renewal.

The Harry A. Finkelman Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the fields of business or real estate or agri-business. 

Alison Harris Fiora Scholarship
Area seniors who are enrolling in a four year nursing program

The Mildred T. Fisher Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of mathematics.

Cedric H. Glover Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship
This award will be given to a senior performing arts student graduating from an area high school with preference given to Middletown High School seniors since Cedric was a Middletown High School graduate. The award may be used for educational purposes only and is non-renewable.

The Marjorie Johnston Memorial Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of nursing and health related areas of study.  Available to Butler County area high schools, with preference for Monroe High School students. May be renewable for four years.

Mabel D. Kinder American Red Cross Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior of Middletown High School. First preference is to be given to a MHS senior with experience as a Red Cross Junior Volunteer at Middletown Regional Hospital. If no student qualifies, the award is to be made to any MHS graduating senior who is presently a volunteer serving the Butler County Chapter of the American Red Cross at the Middletown facility. If multiple graduating seniors qualify for the award, selection is to be made based on length of service, number of hours and level of commitment to the mission of the American Red Cross. 

Nellie Losh Memorial Scholarship
Area residents who have completed two years of nursing education and/or graduate nurses who are studying for a master degree in nursing.

The Louise McBain Memorial Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of mathematics.

Earl David Passmore, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Earl Passmore, Jr. a Middletown High School senior who died in a car accident in 2000.  The scholarship is awarded to a student who personifies the spirit of this commemorative scholarship.

The Michael Popp Memorial Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of social studies.
 
The Delores "Dodee" Saylor Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of Journalism.

The Mary Susanne Ware Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students entering the field of Education as teachers of English and/or Foreign Language.

The Brian Kelly Catron Memorial Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students who lettered in wrestling.  The student is selected by the school administration.  Applications are not accepted.

The Betty Helsinger Memorial Award in Americanism
To be awarded to a graduating senior who has displayed a true sense of the American spirit through citizenship and school spirit.  The selection shall be made by the school Scholarship Committee.  The award need not be made annually if there are no qualified candidates.            Applications are not accepted          

The Charles R. Hook Award in Citizenship
This honorary award is for graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellent citizenship in all aspects of their school career.  The students are selected by the school administration.  Applications are not accepted.

The MHS Journalism Award
This award is for a senior enrolled in good standing and must have exhibited extraordinary effort, talent, or skills in producing a high school publication.  Advisors of the MHS newspaper, yearbook, and creative arts magazine shall select the recipient(s) of the award(s).  Applications are not accepted.

 
The MHS Language Arts Award
This award is to encourage students who display extraordinary effort, talent, and skills in the language arts.  The student is selected by the Middletown High School English Department. Applications are not accepted.

The Martin B. and Frances R. Miller Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for a student who has excelled in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, and service.  The student is selected by the school administration.  Applications are not accepted.

The Robert "Bobby" L. Morris Human Relations Award

This honorary award is for the graduating senior who has displayed leadership in the area of human relations.  The student is selected by the school administration.  Applications are not accepted.

 
The William & Barbara Schick Memorial Scholarship Fund
Eligible students shall be juniors from Middletown High School
who have demonstrated scholastic achievement despite financial or other hardship.  Scholarship is to provide funds to lessen the need to work during their final high school year to allow students to devote their full attention to scholastic excellence.  Applications are not accepted.

The Linda Shaffer Memorial Award for Dependability
"To be awarded annually to a student who can always be depended upon, but who rarely received recognition."  The "selection of the said student shall be made by the current principal of Middletown High School and/or the Scholarship Committee."  Applications are not accepted.

The Edwin L. Tyson Memorial Award
To provide recognition for a senior student at Middletown High School in the pursuit of architecture or carpentry.  Applications are not accepted.

Helen Hoover Tyson Memorial Award
To provide recognition for a senior student at Middletown High School who intends to be an elementary teacher, a music teacher or major in music performance.  Applications are not accepted.

The  Mrs. George M. (Jean) Verity Award in History
The academic award is for the two top students with the highest grade point average in history.  The students are selected by the school Scholarship Committee.  Applications are not accepted.

The George M. Verity Award in College Preparatory
The academic award is for the two male and female students with the highest grade point average in the college preparatory curriculum.  The students are selected by the school Scholarship Committee.  Applications are not accepted.

The Peggy and Bill Verity Award for Excellence

This honorary award is for the male and female graduating senior who have demonstrated excellence in all aspects of his/her high school career.  The student is selected by the school administration.  Applications are not accepted.   

The Walters Music Scholarship
This honorary scholarship is for students who majored in music in high school and are entering the field of music in college.  Students are selected by a special committee.  Applications are not accepted.

The Pigskin/Roundball - Jeff Wiley Memorial Scholarship  
This honorary scholarship is selected by the school administrator.  Applications are not accepted.
