AAUW SCHOLARSHIPS
Established by the American Association of University Women. Student
applicants (male or female) shall be seniors from Carlisle, Edgewood,
Fenwick, Franklin, Monroe, Madison, Middletown, Middletown
Christian or Springboro High Schools
AK STEEL SONS & DAUGHTERS SCHOLARSHIP
Available for the sons and
daughters of AK Steel Corporation employees. Renewable for four years.
Applications available in human resource offices at all AK Steel
facilities.
GARDNER SCHOLARSHIPS
Available for most students,
based on need, renewable for four years.
HARVEY SCHOLARSHIP
Available for all students,
based on need, renewable for four years. The scholarship is only for
students attending colleges and universities supported by the State of
Ohio Board of Regents.
JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Available for students who have participated in the
high school level JA Economics program at Franklin, Lebanon, Middletown,
Madison, Springboro and Waynesville High Schools. Students should
contact their guidance officers for information on applying.
NELLIE LOSH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Area residents who have
completed two years of nursing education and/or graduate nurses who are
studying for a master degree in nursing.
POLICE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for the sons and daughters of all employees
of the Middletown Division of Police. Applications may be obtained at
the Middletown Division of Police.
JOHN HENSLEY JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship shall be awarded to a graduating senior from Franklin High
School who has been involved in high school activities, community
service, and has leadership potential. The individual chosen shall have
at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for four years of high
school. Academic achievement including ACT/SAT scores, academic rigor
and GPA, is the primary consideration in awarding the scholarship. The
recipient must demonstrate initiative and a desire to pursue high
education.

For Franklin High School
Audubon
Society Scholarship
Area seniors who are interested in the natural sciences (biology,
botany, ecology, geology and zoology) and are planning on pursuing a
college major related to the natural sciences.
Burton
Scholarship
for organ studies
Students age 15 to 25 who wish
to study organ to become church musicians. Contact the Middletown
Community Foundation for information.
Carpenter
Scholarship
Available for all students who
will be attending Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Renewable
for four years based on need.
Lorene J.
Chenault Scholarship
This award is for any student
attending Miami University -Middletown pursuing study in the area of
art. Applications are to be made directly with the Miami University
Office of Financial Aid.
Louie F. Cox Memorial AK Steel African-American Scholarship
Available for Butler and Warren County High School Seniors
that will be majoring in business, engineering, or computer science at
an accredited U.S. college or university. Applicants need not be related
to an AK Steel employee. Applications may be downloaded from www.mcfoundation.org.
Alison
Harris Fiora Memorial Scholarship
Area seniors who are enrolling in a four year nursing program.
Franklin-Carlisle Rotary Club Scholarship
This scholarship is
administered by the Middletown Community Foundation. Franklin, Carlisle
and Springboro High Schools are eligible.

Cedric
H. Glover Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship
This award will be given to a senior performing arts student graduating
from an area high school with preference given to Middletown High School
seniors since Cedric was a Middletown High School graduate. The award
may be used for educational purposes only and is non-renewable.
The John Reznor Memorial
Scholarship
This scholarship is a one time
grant for students intending to enter the field of radio/television
communications.
Louis John Johnen Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a high school senior who
is graduating from any Middletown Area school. This applicant must be
attending or planning to attend an accredited college with plans to
pursue a career in vocal music (performance major or education major).
A CD or video recording demonstrating vocal talent must accompany the
application.
